Founded in 1890, O’Rourke Bros. Memorials is one of the oldest manufacturers of cemetery memorials in New England. As the premier monument retailer on the North Shore, O’Rourke Bros. Memorials has created more headstones and granite markers for the community than anyone else. Our sister store, Abate Monuments, was founded in 1924 and has provided invaluable service to the community for generations. Whether it be a headstone, a cemetery inscription order, or a simple cemetery planter, owner, Gabriel P. Rossi Jr, brings a lifetime of experience with him, helping families create lasting tributes to the ones they love.

Today, Gabriel and Mary Rossi and their son Peter carry on the proud traditions at their headquarters at O’Rourke Bros. Memorials in Historic Salem, MA. Joy Wilbar manages the storefront at Abate Monuments, bringing her experience in interior design and architecture to the creation of personal, everlasting tributes. For twenty years Joy Wilbar has exhibited compassion and a unique expertise, treating every customer as a friend.
We still maintain a fully operational manufacturing plant at our headquarters in Salem where we create uniquely designed monuments, including beautiful headstones, grave markers, granite benches, bronze memorials and uniquely designed monuments. With over 100 years of combined experience, we employ our own designers and craftsmen; our design team can help you create a memorial that will preserve the memories of those you love. in addition to traditional headstones, we create grave markers for pets, historic and civic monuments, bronze markers and plaques, granite slant markers, ledgers, and baby markers.
We also do all our own lettering and inscriptions on existing tombstones out in the cemetery. By maintaining our own mobile cemetery lettering truck, we can add names and dates to a headstone, ensuring the work’s accuracy, quality, and timeliness. This flexibility and control allows us to satisfy families time and time again – we know how important it is to get the job done right from the very beginning.
